Individual Psychotherapy: A Path to Healing and Growth
Individual psychotherapy offers a safe, thoughtful space to deepen self-understanding, work through emotional pain, and create lasting change. My work is grounded in over a decade of clinical experience and guided by approaches that honor both the science of psychology and the art of human connection. I combine evidence-based methods with a deeply relational and compassionate style—helping clients feel both understood and empowered as they navigate growth, healing, and self-discovery.

At the center of my approach is Internal Family Systems (IFS), a powerful framework for understanding the different “parts” of ourselves that shape how we think, feel, and relate. In our work, we’ll explore these parts—some that carry pain or fear, others that try to protect through control, perfectionism, or withdrawal—and begin to understand how each one has served a purpose. With time and curiosity, these inner voices can soften as they feel seen, respected, and supported by your core Self—the calm, wise, and compassionate center within you that holds the capacity to heal and lead your inner system. This process helps clients move from self-criticism toward genuine self-compassion, creating greater emotional balance and inner harmony.

Through Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), we integrate practical tools to help you observe thoughts and emotions without being overwhelmed by them. Many people find themselves caught in loops of worry, self-doubt, or overthinking—feeling pulled away from the present moment. MBCT offers a way back. By learning to relate differently to your inner experience—with presence, clarity, and kindness—you can develop resilience, reduce reactivity, and respond to life’s challenges with a greater sense of calm and agency.

When deeper wounds emerge, we may draw from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy originally developed to treat trauma and now widely used to address anxiety, grief, and relational distress. My focus is on Attachment-Focused EMDR, which emphasizes safety and connection as we gently reprocess painful memories. This approach allows you to revisit and integrate experiences that may have shaped your sense of self or relationships—without being retraumatized by them. As old emotional patterns lose their intensity, clients often report feeling lighter, more present, and more open to trust and connection.
Together, these approaches create a holistic and flexible framework that reflects the whole of who you are—your history, emotions, strengths, and aspirations. Therapy is not about fixing what’s “wrong” with you; it’s about helping you reconnect with your innate capacity for healing, growth, and self-leadership. Over time, our work fosters deeper self-awareness, greater emotional freedom, and a renewed sense of peace and purpose in your daily life.

People often seek individual therapy for:
-
Anxiety, panic, or chronic worry
-
Depression or emotional numbness
-
Relationship challenges or patterns of disconnection
-
Grief, loss, or major life transitions
-
Childhood or relational trauma
-
Perfectionism, self-criticism, or low self-worth
-
Difficulty setting boundaries or speaking needs
-
Feeling “stuck” or disconnected from purpose
-
Burnout, stress, or creative exhaustion
-
Desire for deeper self-understanding and growth

Individual therapy is ultimately about coming home to yourself—with more understanding, self-trust, and emotional freedom. It’s a process of remembering that the parts of you that have struggled also hold strength, creativity, and wisdom—and that healing is less about erasing your past than integrating it into a fuller, more compassionate sense of who you are.
